Sign, Sign, Everywhere a Sign . . .

Say Yes to Early Childhood signs were everywhere last night. And speaker after speaker spoke to the importance of investing in early childhood education. Every time video from a community college was shown in Raleigh, signs were there on the screen. And outside the hearing room in Raleigh there were early childhood supporters with signs talking to anyone who would listen about the importance of this issue.

The speech by Hon. Philip E. Bazemore (NCPC Board Member) brought people to tears and inspired much applause.

We will be posting more video later in the day.

While we wish that the battle was over, you know all too well, it’s just the beginning. We have to keep early childhood issues front and center with our state leaders. If you haven’t already done so, you may submit testimony for last night’s hearing through today by as follows:

EMAIL: Town.Hall@NCLEG.NET (Until midnight, 4/29/2009.)
